Have you heard about Global Tokens? No? Well, here you will find all you need to know about them.
What are Global tokens?
Global tokens are snippets of text or HTML content that can be added to emails or landing pages. By using global tokens, you can create and use content that should be consistent across multiple emails or landing pages. If the content where you have used a token needs to change, you can update the same in the global token to apply the changes anywhere the token is used. Thus, you avoid the need to manually update every email and/or landing page where the token is used.
Where to use them?
You can use Global tokens for blocks that you use regularly, such as:
- email header,
- email footer,
- seasonal content,
- and much more.
How to create and use a Global token?
It’s easy! Log into Campaign Studio, and you can create it in a minute.
- Go to Settings (gear icon on top right) > Global Tokens.
- Click +New.
- Specify the name, alias (if you leave it blank, it will be populated automatically), and content (you can have plain text or HTML content, which allows you to include images, videos, and links).
- Publish and save it.
- Now, on the list of Global tokens, copy the token (it looks something like {global-token=alias} ) and paste it into your email.
That’s it! The content of the token will be displayed to the recipient of your email.
